    Honouring the youth of 1976, and the youth of today, we relaunch a work by Emeka Alams/Gold Coast Trading Company for June 16, 2026. A wearable, walkable manifesto to the youth of Soweto, to the self-respect of saying no to a violent present and to the sacrifices made for changes that might come. 

    The shirt captures the essence of Emeka Agu Alams’ practice – inventing new sets of symbols, art and structures that reference African writing systems and architecture while pointing toward future diasporic potentialities.
